Reasons to Give Up

Alright, there are probably hundreds, thousands, or even millions of good reasons to give up on the world, life etc... What I intend to do is discuss them, one at a time.

Reason to give up #1

You are right now the same age as people you once thought of as "old". It doesn't matter if we're talking about how old and sophisticated, and powerful the kids in 5th grade seemed back when you were in 2nd grade, or if we're talking about how now you're nearly 30 and that used to be the age you associated with losing all semblance of coolness. I imagine the comparisons only get worse the older we become. Little girls who were playing Barbie a decade ago while you were busy celebrating your 21st birthday are now consenting adults and have lots of sex with married men your age.

Give up, you will be old before you learn to appreciate how young you really were. You will ache in places that you never injured. You will never run as fast, or be as thin and sexy as you once were. You will never have the same dark brown hair, or in some cases the same full head of hair that used to require perfect sculpting to impress the opposite sex. And SPEAKING of sex, you will never show the same fortitude and stamina in bed as you once did. Where once you could go all night with only short pauses to drink a bit of water to prevent dehydration, now you will be afraid to drink any water because it might make you have to pee before you can finish having sex. Everybody hates having to pee while in the middle of getting it on.

You will never again be as firm or heal as fast as you once did. You will require glasses in order to read. Loud music will no longer excite you, it will irritate you. Walking will become difficult or impossible. You will catch yourself laughing at how stupid "those kids" are, and "those kids" will be 24 years old. You used to say "Fuck the world, I will do what I want!", and while you were doing what you wanted, the world FUCKED you. You are doomed. I am doomed. We might as well give up.
